    Nuvella Navigation plans the fastest route first, so you can see exactly what it would cost you to choose differently.

    See the safer way

    It weighs recent incidents, street lighting and street type, and caps the detour so safety never becomes a huge walk.

    Move with guidance

    Turn-by-turn directions, an alert if you drift off route, and an Escape button that takes you to the nearest safe place.

    Bring someone along

    Start Share My Walk and a person you trust can follow your trip until you arrive. Only when you choose to.

About Nuvella Labs

Safety belongs in everyday life.

Nuvella Labs is a safety company. Safety is too often an afterthought in the technology people use every day, and we think it should be built in from the start.

We are a small team in Berkeley, California. Our first product, Nuvella Navigation, helps people choose a safer way to walk, bike and ride. It is piloting at UC Berkeley, in Berkeley and in Emeryville.

Nuvella Navigation is where we start. We will keep building until safety is something people stop having to think about.

Evidence before claims

If we cannot show where a number comes from, it does not go on a screen or a website.

Estimates, never guarantees

A safety score is a guide built from imperfect data. We label thin data as thin, and we never promise a route is safe.

Privacy by default

Location is used for the trip you are on. You choose what to share, and you can delete your account from inside the app.

We are testing whether better information at the moment of choosing a street helps. We do not claim our products prevent crashes, injuries or crime.
